About Big Brushy Campground

Big Brushy Campground offers 9 camping sites in a remote forested setting next to Big Brushy Creek, and is conveniently located on US Highway 270 west of Mt. Ida, Arkansas. All campsites are primitive, offering no electric or water hookups. Amenities include a picnic shelter, vault toilet, playground, and picnic tables.

This campground is located along the Ouachita National Recreation Trail, and also serves as the trailhead for the Brushy Creek Trail and Brushy Mountain Trail. Other trails that can be accessed from Big Brushy Campground include the Mountain Top Trail and the Rockhouse Trail. These trails can be combined with the Ouachita Trail to form a looped trail complex for hikers and mtn bikers that ranges from 3 to 12 miles long.

Big Brushy Campground is also located near the Blowout Mountain Scenic Area.
