About Bull Shoals-White River

Bull Shoals Lake and the White River show why the Ozarks are home to one of the nation's finest fishing and boating destinations. The White River is renowned as one of the Midwest's premiere trout streams, with its record brown and rainbow trout. The Bull Shoals Dam creates the 45,400 acre Bull Shoals Lake. Every year, many anglers and boaters are drawn to the lake's clear water and the surrounding Ozarks scenery.
Bull Shoals-White River State Park borders the river below the dam, and the shoreline above the dam. The park offers 103 campsites near or along the White River. See "Activities Available" below for more info. Other facilities include picnic areas and pavilions, playgrounds, hiking & biking trails, and a marina.
The visitor center offers great views of the White River, Bull Shoals Dam, and Bull Shoals Lake. Included in the visitor center is a gift shop, exhibit hall, Johnboat Theater, lobby, and a video presentation about the history and fishing opportunities available.
