About Lake Ouachita

At 40,000 acres, Lake Ouachita is the largest lake fully within Arkansas's borders. The surrounding Ouachita National Forest only adds to the scenic beauty of this crystal clear lake. It has become a haven for those who enjoy watersports. Fishing, swimming, scuba diving, boating, and water skiing are all favorite activities here. Bream, crappie, stripers, and largemouth bass can be found out in the open waters, or in a quiet cove.

Only a short drive from Hot Springs, Lake Ouachita State Park sits along the eastern edge of the lake. It is the gate to the lake's popular watersports activities.

The park features 101 campsites, as well as eight fully-equipped cabins. Seven of the eight cabins overlook the lake.

Other facilities at the park include picnic areas, hiking trails, a swimming area, marina with boat rentals, and the historic Three Sisters' Springs. The park's visitor center houses exhibits and a store.
