About Ft. Douglas

This small access for Big Piney Creek offers a gentle slope into the waters, creating a nice but not too overly crowded access for canoeists and kayakers. The waters are not too deep here, offering a nice swimming hole for families. This access is also located along the Ozark Highlands Trail, and would make a great spot to cool off during the warmer months. A main trailhead for the Ozark Highlands Trail is located just a few hundred yards down the highway from here.

Located just 1.5 miles away is the Haw Creek Falls Campground, offering camping, picnicking, and two waterfalls, Haw Creek Falls and Pack Rat Falls. Also nearby, and just across the road from Haw Creek Falls, is Pam's Grotto Falls, a definite must-see!
