About Spring Lake

This 82-acre lake located near Mt. Magazine in the Arkansas River Valley is a popular destination with locals for fishing, camping and swimming. Typically open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, this recreation area is surrounded by dense National forest, offering beautiful spring wildflowers and rich fall colors, plus abundant wildlife viewing as well.

Facilities include 13 campsites, 19 picnic aites, pavilions, a swimming beach, restrooms with showers, drinking water, and a boat launch ramp.

The camping area offers 13 sites, with 9 of those large enough to accomodate RV's/camping trailers. However, each site is primitive, offering no hookups. Drinking water and restrooms are centrally located. Each campsite does come with a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and lantern post.

Spring Lake fishing includes species such as bass, sunfish, crappie and catfish. A boat luanch ramp provides access to the lake, but a "NO Wake" restriction is permanetely in effect.

There is also a nice 2-mile loop trail that leads through the dense hardwood forest, offering views of wildlife and wildflowers nearly all year-round.
