Directions: From Alton: Travel East on US Hwy 160 approx. 21.4 miles to State Hwy V. Turn Right/South onto State Hwy V and go approx. 1.7 miles to the entrance sign on your left.
From Doniphan: Travel West on US Hwy 160 approx. 16.5 miles to State Hwy V. Turn Left/South onto State Hwy V and go approx. 1.7 miles to the entrance sign on your left.
About Fourche Lake Rec Area
Fourche Lake Recreation Area is a great place to spend a day or a weekend. This area contains 49-acre Fourche Lake, perfect for catching bass, panfish or catfish. A beautiful wooden dock offers even more fishing opportunities, or a place to just relax and enjoy the view of the lake. A boat launch ramp is also available; only electric motors are allowed on the lake.
There is also a dispersed camping area available, with six established sites with fire rings, open seasonally. No water or electric hookups are available. A vault toilet and picnic tables are available, though.
The dock, the path to the dock, and restroom are all handicap accessible.
