About Haw Creek Falls

Surrounded by a remote section of the Ozark National Forest, Haw Creek Falls sits on a small Ozarks stream with lots of character and beauty. A major stop along the Ozark Highlands Trail, this campround offers 9 primitive sites to hikers and backpackers, as well as traditional campers. While there are no hookups, travel trailers are welcome in the campground. Most sites offers a table and pedestal grill, and the campground does offer a vault toilet. During times of exceptionally wet weather, the campground may be closed, both for its close proximity to Haw Creek, as well as having to cross Haw Creek to get to the campground.
As a major stop along the trail, Haw Creek Falls offers access to the Ozark Highlands Trail. The campground is located along the trail at mile marker 104. Haw Creek Falls is 1.5 miles from the Big Piney Trailhead.
Of course, the main feature of this campground is Haw Creek Falls, which is visible from the campground. Although not all that tall, the waterfall does make for a scenic backdrop while you are camping, as well as beautiful noise while you sleep!
Also reachable from the campground via a short hike/bushwack is Pack Rat Falls. And, while you are visiting, be sure to check out Pam's Grotto Falls, located across Hwy 123 from Haw Creek Falls.
