About the Magazine Ranger District
Encompasing the highest mountain in Arkansas, the Mount Magazine Ranger District offers some truly spectacular views of the beautiful forest, and especially the surrounding Petit Jean River Valley.
The Magazine Ranger District offers three designated camping areas, with two of those offering great swimming as well, plus many miles of hiking and backpacking trails, and an extensive offroad/atv trail system to ride. Numerous waterfalls can also be found as well.
In the middle of the National Forest, and encompasing the highest point in Arkansas, Mount Magazine State Park also offers camping, hiking, picnicking, horseback riding and spectacular views.
*Currently, there are so many more features and areas within the Boston Mountain RD than I have had time to photograph, gather information for, and list here. As soon as new information become available, and I am able to gather pictures, I will post those new areas and features here.*
