About the Pleasant Hill Ranger District

Sandwiched between the Boston Mountain and Big Piney Ranger Districts, the Pleasant Hill Ranger District lies in the heart of the Arkansas Ozarks and Boston Mountains.

The district offers 4 primitive camping areas, with three of those located along the Ozark Highlands Trail, and two of those even located along the banks of the Mulberry Wild & Scenic River. A fourth campground sits next to a small but scenic lake on the southern edge of the Ozarks, near the Arkansas River Valley.

The Redding/Spy Rock Loop and Ozark Highlands Trail are just two of the more popular hiking trails within this ranger district.

Water features include the Mulberry Wild & Scenic River, and numerous waterfalls. One of the more popular and easily accessible waterfalls is the High Bank Twins, located just across the road from the High Bank Canoe Access on the Mulberry River. The Mulberry is one the most popular Ozarks float streams, and is also a great river for swimming and fishing as well.
